P1 Opportunities
Where Can I Go After My Course?
Higer Education/Uni
This is a path where I could go and study courses at university for Media. The pros of studying at university is that there is a better chance of you getting a higher paid job with the qualifications and degrees you have from university. The cons that there is for studying at university is that after you have completed your course you are not guaranteed a job that you studied for because there is so many people around applying for jobs. Some examples that you could go and study at university is courses like Creative Media Design which is a (BA) course with art skills to pick up on for experience as well as designing in photoshop and web designing. Another course would be Media and cultural Production where you would learn how to produce films and edit films which is another skill you can pick up from experience which would be going on for 3 years.
Workplace
This is a path where I can finish my course then find work straight away either part time or full time but most likely part time. The types of work I could work to be is a free lance worker where i can work in the comfort of my home and make designs on photoshop for people or edit peoples films or even film for people and edit them and get paid to do it. I could also become an editor for people who want videos edited and get paid for it. Another job I can get into is a designer, making designs for people on photoshop and get paid for it. I could also get into voluntary work so that I can get experience from it for a job I may want in the future or I can get into a job where I know I can get paid. The pros to going into workplace is that I will make my own money and gain experience from it. The cons for going into workplace is that you are not guaranteed a job once you leave college and it may not be the right job for you to get into.
Gap Year
This is a path where I can take a year off to do the things that I would like to do. For example I would be able to travel places and learn new things or I would be able to find part time work and get experience from it for a future job I may want. The pros to having a gap year is that it gives you plenty of time to decide on what you want to do later on in life and it gives you time to chill and do the things you want to do in your free time. The cons to having a gap year is that in most cases you will need money for a gap year if you wanted to go traveling or if you decided to find work, you may not be able to get a job within the gap year so the year would be wasted.
Apprenticeships
This is a path where I can find work whilst gaining both information about the job within the media as well as gaining experience from it. Some examples of apprenticeships I could get into is working with companies such as the BBC in a specific department such as the filming and editing department or I could work with smaller companies that film or edit or just designing which can vary from photoshop designs to web designing. The pros to an apprenticeship is that you get paid to learn, where you get paid for the job whilst learning and gaining experience so that later on you can use that experience for a job they may want to get in the future. The cons to having an apprenticeship is that the apprenticeship is only a temporary thing where you would get paid, so later on you would need to find a job once you have completed the apprenticeship and you may not be able to find a job straight away once the apprenticeship is completed.

Strength, weakness, outcome and threat analysis (swot)
Strengths
The types of strengths that I have is:
I work best by myself but I also work well with others but I work best with myself.
I enjoy getting practical with work E.G filming with cameras and editing.
I am a hard worker which is another one of my strengths.
Another strength that I have is I am a good listener and a good learner. I can pick up things quickly.
My other strength that I have is that I can work quickly when I need to.
Weaknesses
Some of the weaknesses that I have is that I don't really ask questions when I may need to.
I also don't do well with meeting new people and making new friends.
I am not really confident when it comes to meeting new people, I keep myself to myself.
I also am not good with making conversation with new people.
I also am not really confident in general until I come out of my shell.
Opportunities
When it comes to opportunities for me I can use both my strengths and weaknesses for opportunities. The way I can use my strengths for opportunities is by using my hard working strength as well as using my good listening and learning into an opportunity is by putting that all together and using that in a job both to make an impact around everyone and to get work done. I can use my weakness into an opportunity. The reason for this is because my lack of confidence can mean that I work better on my own which means I would be able to get more work done on my own but it also means that I can learn to step out of my shell to meet new people and friends at work.
Skills
The type of skills that I have is that I am a fast worker when I need to be and that I am a good listener as well as a good learner so that can lead into me producing good work. Some other skills that I have is that I work better on my own which can mean better work is produced when I work on my own which is what some jobs may require.
Relevant Acheivements
When it comes to relevant achievements I have made a few short films from learning and experience in Creative Media as well as making many posters to do with things like bullying and advertising. So if I were to go for a media job this would be relevant and would help out. I also have achieved working with auto mechanic work in the past, so I have some experience in auto mechanics so that would be relevant if I was to go for a mechanic apprenticeship or job.
Threats
When it comes to threats for me it can be things like:
Other people around me. The reason for this is because other people around me can be competition, especially when it comes to work and their work may be better than mine.
Meeting new people. The reason for this is because I am not really confident around new people and it takes me a while to make new friends as well as making conversation which can leave me feeling low which may lead to work not being at its fullest potential.
Experience And Interests
when it comes to experience and interests I have many of both. Some experiences that I have had is I had work experience with auto mechanics at work experience and learned a lot of information about cars e.g you need a working spark plug to start a car. I have also learned to use a DSLR camera from my Creative Media course which is BoomSatsuma and I have also gained a lot of experience from them such as editing videos, making designs on photoshop and filming for films to be edited and made into films. Some interests that I have is that I do youtube making content and uploading it to youtube e.g vlog videos and gaming videos. I also have an interest to make it big on youtube and to soon make it into a passion that is a job where I can make enough money from youtube to turn it into a job.

P4 Planning For Future Careers
When it comes to planning for a future career I want to pursue in the media there will be many stages I will have to go through to get the desire career that I want.
Skills And Qualities
When it comes to the career I want, I have many qualities that will help me along the way to get the desired career I want as well as skills. The type of qualities that I have is that I come in with a positive attitude to working, so that will help out when it comes to getting into a job because employers look for positive attitudes. Some other qualities I have is that I have a good sense of humour. This will help out in a future career because in work in most cases there is always humour going around and a good sense of humour will help out for then. Some skills that I have is that I know how to edit films/videos to a good standard and record videos in good quality for a film. This will help out for my future career because it is a skill that is needed if you want to go into film and edit production at work whether that be recording films r editing films.
What
When it comes to the career that I want to have it would be an editor for a big company such as the BBC or ITV where I can be editing films. The things that I will have to of is that I firstly will have to get merits and distinctions in my creative media course so that I can apply for university to get onto a 3 year film and edit production course. When I do get onto the course at university I will then have to finish it with my degree to a good standard to then hopefully using my degrees and qualifications to get a job with a big company as an editor and making films.
Skills I Need
When it comes to the skills I need for the future career I want I must make sure to leave my creative media course in college with either merits in all my work or distinctions so then I can get into the university course I want. Another skill that I will need is experience that is relevant to the job I want. For example knowing how to edit videos and record videos for film production. Another skill that I will need is to leave university with a degree in film and edit production so that later on I can get my dream job.
Experience
When it comes to experience that I have had I have had experience with many things to do with the media. I have learned to film and edit films to a goof standard as well as making different types of designs in photoshop, In design and illustrator for different things like making posters and magazine pages. I also have had experience in audio recording with pro audio kits. This will help me out for my future career that I want because these experiences will both help me to get noticed and to help me produce better work in my future career.
